Ayran is a professional and award-winning violinist, arranger and composer. Born to play the violin, he’s racked up over 20 years experience playing styles from classical to contemporary and popular.

Based in Brazil, Ayran is currently the first violin of the Rio de Janeiro Ópera House, and a professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Ayran has hundreds of performances across many genres, with 7 recorded albums, from solo violin, classical, contemporary and popular music.Ayran is skilled in working with different material formats, but prefers to work from well-finished sheet music or harmony chords to improvise wonderful violin solos! Ayran aims to make a very high technical and artistic work on the violin, based on well-prepared material from the composers and arrangers.

I used Ayran as a violinist he is exceptional. The recording engineer is great as well. Excellent guys to work with. But why would you use Rode mics? Very poor quality mics. I know this because I suffer when trying to get the recording to sit nicely in the mix. I would prefer ribbon mics be used for violin. Either Coles, AEA R84 or other ribbon mics. Rode mics in my opinion are a low quality mic for professional service. I am not sure I can continue using Ayran because of the quality of the mics, which is a shame.

Ayran had a audio engineer helping him out with the flow of the session and probably also with mic placement, with a hint of ambience which I like, and makes it easier to integrate with reverb later etc. I can see in the naming of the files that its was recording with a RØDE NT2, which is not the most expensive mic, but thats not the most important part anyway. A good professional recording quality/setup overall.
